Image Protection Measures in the Shop

To further protect studio images, Workflow now includes an additional dynamic watermark layer that can be used alongside your existing watermark.

This extra layer is designed to make image removal significantly more difficult—especially when using common, accessible watermark-removal tools.

In addition to your current watermark, you can now apply a dynamic overlay pattern to studio images. Studios can choose from two options:

• Lines

• Triangles

These patterns add visual complexity that helps prevent clean image extraction while still allowing shoppers to preview images.

1. Navigate to Workflow > Shop

2. Open Cart Template Settings > Watermark

3. Locate the Dynamic Watermark dropdown

4. Select either Lines or Triangles

5. Save your changes

Once enabled, the dynamic watermark will automatically apply to watermarked images shown to shoppers.

We’ve tested these dynamic watermark patterns against some of the most powerful and widely available watermark-removal tools and found them to be effective. That said, watermark-removal technology is constantly evolving.

Because of this, we recommend:

• Using dynamic watermarks in tandem with your existing watermark

• Viewing this as one layer in a broader image-protection strategy

We will continue to iterate on these patterns and protection strategies as removal tools and methods evolve.

To further safeguard studio images, we’ve introduced a feature that blocks screenshots on desktop devices by detecting actions shoppers typically take before capturing a screenshot. This helps prevent shoppers from saving watermarked thumbnails when viewing images in a larger format.

If a shopper attempts to take a screenshot on a desktop device, a pop-up modal will appear that redirects them back to the page they were viewing or provides the option to copy the gallery link to share with others.
