Clear Local Job Storage (without losing your settings)

If jobs are getting stuck, exports are failing, or something just isn’t behaving as expected, Clear Local Job Storage can give you a fresh start without resetting all of your Captura preferences.

This tool removes the local copy of your job data and replaces it with the current copy from the server. Your app preferences, filters, and login stay in place, so you can get back to work without setting everything up again.

Captura stores some job information locally to help you work efficiently. Occasionally, that local data may need to be refreshed.

Clear Local Job Storage removes your local job cache—including galleries, subjects, pending orders, and other job data—and replaces it with the current server copy.

This can help when:

• Exports are failing or getting stuck

• Jobs aren’t behaving as expected

• You want to refresh jobs using the latest server copy

• You need to reduce local memory usage

• You’ve tried other troubleshooting steps and the issue continues

The important part: this does not reset your Captura preferences or log you out.

Your capture and printing preferences, settings, subject and image filters, and login remain in place.

There’s nothing you need to configure before using Clear Local Job Storage, but there is one important step:

Make sure any changes you want to keep have been synced before clearing your local storage.

Clearing local job storage removes un-synced job changes and replaces your locally stored job information with the current server copy.

It will also remove open galleries from your Jobs tab.

💡 PRO TIP: Sync your work before clearing local job storage. Anything that hasn’t reached the server will be lost when your local job data is refreshed.

Navigate to the Jobs list in your Captura app.

From the Jobs page, open the Tools menu in the top-right corner.

From the Tools menu, select Clear Local Job Storage.

Captura will display a confirmation message before anything is removed.

Read this warning carefully.

Clearing your local job storage will revert your jobs to the current production copy. Any un-synced changes will be lost.

This is your opportunity to cancel if you have work that still needs to be synced.

Once you’re confident your important changes have been synced, select:

YES! CLEAR LOCAL JOB STORAGE

Captura will clear the locally stored job information and replace it with the current server copy.

Clear Local Job Storage removes your local job cache, including information such as:

• Galleries

• Subjects

• Pending orders

• Other locally stored job data

• Open galleries from your Jobs tab

Your local job data is then replaced with the server’s current copy.

You won’t have to start from scratch.

Captura keeps your:

• Login

• Capture and printing preferences

• Settings

• Subject filters

• Image filters

Any job changes that haven’t been synced to the server will be lost.

If you’re regularly clearing local job storage, consider syncing more frequently so your latest work is safely reflected on the server.
